STUDENT-ATHLETE & PARENT-GUARDIAN AGREEMENT

“If you ‘ re early, you’ re on time. If you’ re on time, you’ re late. If you’ re late, you’ re forgotten.” The saying of many Coaches and athletic organizations on the topic of discipline and punctuality. Every effort should be made to attend all practices, games, training sessions, etc. at least 10 minutes early. However, we realize things come up so if you’ re running late please notify your respective Coach. Parents/Guardians are responsible for transporting the student-athlete to and from all practices, games, and related activities. No God’s Gift Coach, volunteer, or administrator is liable or responsible for or in connection with the student-athlete’s transportation. If parents/guardians are unable to provide transportation for their student-athlete, the parents/guardians must give a 24-48-hour verbal and email/text message consent. Only then will we permit a God’s Gift Coach, volunteer, or administrator to transport a student-athlete. Even still, God’s Gift IS NOT liable or responsible for transportation of a student-athlete to and from practices, games, and/or other activities.
If a student-athlete must miss any practices, games, and/or other activities, we ask that the respective Coach be given a minimum of 24-48-hours: If a student-athlete misses multiple times, the student-athletes should not ” expect” to play, though they may. This is not meant to punish student-athletes who must miss practices, games, or other activities, but it’s meant to encourage attendance. In the event a student-athlete must miss practices, games, and/or other activities, or must leave early from either, it is the responsibility of the student-athlete to get any updates from the Coach.
In the event of an injury, if possible, we ask that the student-athlete still attend practices, games, and/or other activities to continue their development and support their teammates. A lot can be learned from assisting Coaches and encouraging teammates. If a student-athlete becomes sick during any team function, it is the responsibility of the student-athlete to report to a Coach immediately. Parents/guardians are responsible for maintaining medical, health, dental, and accident insurance for the benefit of the student-athlete. Copies maybe required to be kept on file for God’s Gift records. Parents/Guardians understand that any insurance that might be obtained by God’s Gift is SECONDARY. Such insurance, if obtained, will only provide benefits to the student-athlete once the limits of their primary insurance have been exhausted. The student-athlete and parents/guardians agree to immediately notify the respective Coach or God’s Gift administrator of any claims of the student-athlete being injured while participating in the God’s Gift organization.
Student-athletes and parents/guardians are solely responsible for maintaining the upkeep of equipment and related athletic gear given to the student-athletes. Student-athletes should come ready and prepared to all practices, games, training sessions, workouts, etc. Please refrain from wearing other organizations attire to all practices, games, training sessions, workouts, etc. as the student-athlete is not a part of that organization any longer. If a student-athlete does not have proper attire worn or is missing functional equipment, the God’s Gift organization is not responsible for this matter and the student-athlete is subject to sitting out of practices, games, training sessions, workouts, etc.
Family, friends, and other spectators should not attend practices, games, training sessions, workouts, etc. if it is, or becomes a distraction to ANY of the student-athletes. Student-athletes should be mindful that practices, games, training sessions, workouts, etc. is not time designated to visit family, friends, and spectators outside the field of play. All parties should please refrain from Coaching from the sideline. We trust in the abilities of our approved Volunteer Coaches to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
We hold ourselves to the highest level of sportsmanship and behavior at all times. As a student-athlete and as supporting members of God’s Gift organization, you are held to this standard as well. We WILL NOT tolerate a student-athlete’s bad attitude, poor behavior, and/or laziness. While we appreciate the love a family, friend, or spectator may have for a student-athlete and love for the sport, we ask that you show your love in a respectful and harmless manner. All members of God’s Gift organization will act with great sportsmanship and behavior. God’s Gift reserve the right to dismiss any student-athlete and/or family, friend, or spectator who breaches good sportsmanship, organization values, or ethics, or who engages in any activity that brings harm to the organization and anyone that is a part of the organization. Dismissal is in the discretion of the acting Coach and/or God’s Gift administrator present.
God’s Gift promotes having excellent communication amongst coaches, administrators, volunteers, student-athletes, and other support members. While the organization has an open line of communication, we ask that supporting members abide by NOT speaking with a coach and/or God’s Gift administrator during or in the middle of practices, games, training sessions, workouts, etc. All involved parties must respect each other’s time and that concerns and/or problems will be addressed appropriately. By signing below, you are agreeing to the Student-Athlete & Parent/Guardian Agreement and any breach of this agreement could result in suspension or termination of the student-athlete’s membership with God’s Gift 2 Sports Organization. By signing this agreement, student-athletes and parents/guardians release God’s Gift 2 Sports Organization and its affiliate organizations, coaches, volunteers, administrators and any other student-athletes from and against any and all claims, injuries, and/or damages which the student-athlete and/or parent/guardian may have suffered during or as a result of the student-athlete’s participation with God’s Gift. Parents/Guardians agree to render God’s Gift 2 Sports Organization and its affiliate organizations, coaches, volunteers, administrators and any other student-athletes from and hold them harmless against any and all losses, liabilities, claims, damages, cost of expenses including legal fees and court costs of or in the connection with the student-athlete’s participation with God’s Gift 2 Sports Organization.
